January beauty trash

January beauty trash

It’s time to empty my beauty (and emotional) trash and start anew! New beginnings are always scary, unpredictable and full of nervous excitement. I hope that this is also how you feel about looking into my monthly collection of empty products. Since we indulged in visiting sunny places around Christmas, there is a special section on empty sun care products.

Hair and body

Percy Reed Super Soft Conditioner review

Korres Shampoo against dandruff and dry scalp with Laurel and Echinacea is a good preventative measure for times when things start to feel a bit flakey. It does a good job keeping the any flakes away. If you already have some dandify this shampoo will probably not do much to take care of the problem.

Percy & Reed Super Soft Conditioner was a big disappointment to me. I really did absolutely nothing to my hair. It left it dry and bristle comply the opposite effect of what this product was claiming to do.

Imperial Leather Foamburst in Golden honey & Almond milk is a great every day shower foam I cannot stop recommending. Really worth trying and its budget friendly too.

Nail’s Yard Bee Lovely body lotion came as a gift with purchase so I feel like I should not criticize this product too harshly because of it. It is quite tick and very hard to absorb into the skin type of moisturizer that has kind of zesty smell…

Peter Thomas Roth Pumpkin Enzyme Mask sensitive skin

I finished a whole tub of Peter Thomas Roth Pumpkin Enzyme Mask, which is a great achievement. This mask is a very effective product that packs a good punch. It really manages to deeply exfoliate my skin in just a few minutes, leaving it soft and smooth. It’s a great product and this massive tub will last you for a very long time.

Elemis Papaya Enzyme Peel is essentially a very similar product that is not as strong. If you have sensitive skin and want to venture into enzyme mask or peels  this product is probably best for you. Since I’m kind of used a bit more strength in my products, I thought that is product does not deliver as much as I was hoping to.

Omorovicza Deep Cleansing Mask is a clay mask that does not irritate sensitive skins (yes this combination exist). This little sample size lasted me for about 3 applications, focusing only on problematic or congested arias. It did improve the texture of my skin in those arias which I was quite happy about.

By Terry Huile de Rose Firming-Lifting oil is actually a really good product. I found that results are settle and only prominent after a few uses which is something to keep in mind. This little sample bottle lasted me about a month’s time which was enough for me to fully test this product. It’s a lightweight oil that smells beautiful and sinks into the skin quite quickly. I’m definitely considering purchasing the big bottle.

Sun care, SPF and After-sun

SPF Clarins Lancaster Avene Biotherma review

Lancaster Melting Tanning Milk SPF15 can definitely carry you through two weeks sun holiday. It’s a lightweight lotion that absorbs quickly and protects your skin for about 2 hours, before it requires reapplication (that’s my general rule of thumb anyway). I found that even with SPF 15 my skin did not burn, which really made it worth it splurging a bit extra on sunscreen.

Avene High Protection cream 30 SPF and Clinique SPF 30 face cream are really not some of my favorite face sun protection products. They did the job just fine, well Avene performed a bit better but the consistency was chalky and hard to absorb.

Clarins UV Plus SPF 50 Multi- Protection face sunscreen was probably the hero face product for me. It really lives up to the expectations and really protects the face without a fail. On the packaging it mentions that it is translucent which is not entirely true. The consistency is white and lightweight that takes quick 30 seconds to absorb. Nothing to worry about but good to know.

Clarins After-Sun Moisturizer did a decent job but I was really missing that cooling and suiting feeling on application. On another hand Biotherm After-Sun Oligo-thermal sparkle cream not only calms the skin but also leaves a good amount a sparkle to compliment your tan. I love this product and in general Biotherm as a skincare brand.

That’s all for now, glad I can share some good and bad products I tried/used over the past month.
