We are entering a new revolutionary era of self- tanners. St Tropez In Shower Tanning Lotion has a rather different proposition. A three minutes in shower tanning experience. As per the instructions you Wash, Apply, Wait, Rinse and Dry before you are rewarded with a “sun kissed golden glow”. I was dying to try and see for myself to what extend this magical in shower lotion will work.
I just want to point out that this in shower tanning lotion has no cleaning properties but it does leave your skin feeling soft and moisturized. Essentially applying this lotion comes after you scrub, wash or just splash your body with water (you skin needs to be damp for it to work). Application is no different than applying a moisturizer but you have to make sure you rinse it all off. If you don’t you are risking dealing with very streaky self-tan situation. The light creamy texture simply lather onto the skin where it should rest for about three minutes. It has light sweet almond smell that does not linger.
First time I used this product I was not very careful with application or rinsing it off. Since it has no distinct color you cannot really tell if you’ve done it right or not. I was surprised to discover that it did not matter that much. Just make sure you cover well all arias. There are rarely any streaks (unless you forgot to wash it off). Some people find it awkward while waiting three minutes under the shower for the product to develop. It certainly takes a bit of getting used to but personally it did not bother me that much. After my evening shower and approximately eight hours of sleep my golden glow turn out quite even. I forgot to wash my hands so had to suffer with the wired brown patches for a few days. My skin felt soft and nourished which was a great added bonus to this experience. Another positive is that after use there was no need to vigorously scrub the bathroom shower from potential brown stains.
St Tropez In Shower Tanning Lotion delivers the same color results as its pre-assessor St Tropez Gradual Tan lotion. After one application there is a hint of color (light to medium, depending on how much you layer), which is also perfect for a self-tanning newbies. If you like your skin more than two shades darker this is product is not for you. It will take way too many regular applications to build up the color, which I would imagine is too much effort considering the infinite sea of alternatives. I can imagine that this is a great product to use before or bring with you on vacation.
