When it comes to beauty no women what to be associated with a horse but there are some undeniable features of this graceful animal that never the less draw some female envy. The horse hair is tick, straight and glossy, adjectives I wish I could use for my brunette locks.
Entertaining the idea of having a strong hair like horse I stumble across Mane n Tail Hair Strengthener spray. Originally the formula was developed for show ponies to keep their manes and tails shiny and glossy. The mix of ingredients worked so well that soon the horses’ owners started to use it on their own hair and the rest is history. Years ago I remember reading a blog post by Sandra from 5 inch and up taking about her hair care routine where she incorporate some product actually made for houses. Sandra personal experience and golden locks really made me believe that hair products for horses could actually work.
Mane n Tail Hair Strengthener spray is relevantly new edition to the range. This is a daily leave in conditioning treatment that claims to strengthen and nourishes your hair. My hair is very fine and lacks volume. Leave in conditioners does not always work for me since majority tends to weighs down my hair and make it feel quite sticky. The fact that this leave in treatment comes as a clear liquid was reassuring at first. The smell is more on the sweet side (like sweet bubblegum) that does tend to linger on hair. The spray deposits too much liquid making your hair quite wet when you apply it on dry hair. I strongly recommend using this product on dry hair since it does not tend to build up that quickly. It is not sticky but right after use does make hair feel more crisp, similar to when you use hairspray with light to medium hold. I was surprised to discover that it does not weighs down my fine hair. After a week of daily use I discover that my hair does felt ticker. On further inspection I discover that on touch hair was actually more brittle, but in a good way. It gives a good grip, and it is ideal for hair styling because it give that fuzzy, backcombed hair effect. Good thing about it is that whatever you do it washes off easily.
For me Mane n Tail Hair Strengthener is alternative version of a salt spray. This house edition also nourishes and protects your hair. I would admit this is not a miracle product and if you already have dry and colored hair this is probably not the right product for you. Still I will continue housing around with this product and see where the wind takes me.
