Bargain of the week – Laura Mercier Artist Eye Palette

Bargain of the week – Laura Mercier Artist Eye Palette

There are always endless piles of products on my wish list but I love a good bargain. I tend to talk myself into being patient and wait for the beauty sales and sometimes when I do it really pays off. When it comes to buying beauty products on sale signing up for newsletters and shopping online does tend to save some cash all year round. During this year summer sale, I managed to restrain myself and bought only one..ok may be two beauty products that totally rock my world right now. I’ve been lusting over Laura Mercier Artist Eye Palette for quite a while now and when I got to for half the price, the satisfaction levels were quite high.

Laura Mercier Sleek & Chick Eye Colour Palette (also known as artist palette) was a Christmas exclusive that I really liked but did not really love enough to purchase it at full price. It comes with 12 colours, five of which are matte and the remaining seven have a satin finish. The colors range from base nudes, plum and purples, gold, copper, taupe and even matte black. The quality of eye shadow is soft and buttery with great amount pigment and lasting power. All satin finish shades come with slight golden shimmer which in some cases works great in other not so much. For example, Bamboo is a typical taupe mixed up with some gold flex which does not necessarily translate very flattering. Same applies for African Violet and Plumifique. The matte section of this palette is very spot on and makes a beautiful base for a variety of makeup looks.

Laura Mercier artist Sleek and Chick Eye Colour Palette review christmass

The packaging of this palette looks very pretty but it is not very practical. It is made of cardboard and yet feels heavy and bulky. I like that comes with a large mirror but for some reason, I cannot image taking this palette with me on a holiday or on short travels. I bought Laura Mercier Sleek & Chick Eye Colour Palette half price from SpaceNK which I can completely justify in terms of value for money. The quality of eye shadows is excellent, just the color selection a bit out of my comfort zone, but a girl has to have options right?
