I’ve heard many positive things about the benefits of aromatherapy but to be honest I never really splurged on any aromatherapy treatments at the spa. In case you are like me and prefer to experiment with holistic beauty treatments in the comfort of your own home, here are a few pointers. To help my attempts of trying to create a calm, suiting and relaxing atmosphere in my bathroom at home I used a Beatitude bath oil, few candles and indulged in a mandatory technology black out session.
Soaking in the bath for hours was never something I personally liked or practiced regularly. I can see the general appeal of resting comfortably in a warm body of water but the idea of spending more than fifteen minutes in trapped in a bathtub makes me feel uneasy. Every so often, normally on Sunday afternoon I do indulge in a relaxing pamper session including numerous face masks, hair masks, body scrubs and doing my nails. This time around I decided to make an extra effort to run a bath and light some candles to start. I picked up Beatitude Patience Bath Oil* (£25) that targets muscle fatigue and just any other body ache that might occur after a gym session or the weekly house tidying session. My experience with bath oils is not very extensive but enough for me to form few likes and dislikes when it comes to consistency. Patience Bath Oil comes in a generous 50ml packaging claiming to last you for about 10 baths. The scent tends to be strong and lingering which contributes to the overall aromatherapy and relaxing experience. The consistency is kind of heavy and does leave a slight film on the skin after a bath. Something that is quite unique about his product is the scent that does linger on the skin even after a bath. This combination of essential oils did help with calming and relaxing my senses even after I was done with my bath.
Beatitude Joy Body Oil* (£34) is a product that felt right up my street. I love any type of face or body oils that can nourish my dry skin. This particular body oil comes with a slight present but very settle scent and lightweight texture. It sinks into the skin quite quickly and leaves it feeling hydrated. Because of the light lingering scent, I find that Joy Body Oil also works great for body massages, if you manage to convince your significant one to attempt and give you one.
