Back in the days when you think about being a fisherman was a lucrative but labor intensive career choice. Dealing with harsh weather conditions and rough skin came with the job and I could only imagine that finding economical and preferably natural beauty products was the only way forward. Recently I stumbled on Nova Scota Fisherman Xtreme skin range that shares some of the old man’s secrets.
This 100% natural skincare focuses on using ingredients to nourish and protect the skin which is very much welcome especially in the cooler months of the year. To get to know the brand and try as much as I can I went for Nova Scota Fisherman Stem to Stern Gift Pack* (£9.95) including a lip and rescue balm, travel size bar of soap and sample of their Hand & Body cream. The one product that stood out for me was their Lip Balm. It comes in a rather unique packaging and mouthwatering honey scent that I absolutely love. On the lips it feels very moisturizing and after a few days of wear I saw some positive improvement of my capped lips. Another product that I also love is their Hand and Body cream* (£9.95 full size). The texture is very lightweight and easy to absorb without leaving any greasy residue. The scent is very fresh with a hint of what I think is lemon zest. The soap was nice and not drying. Nova Scota Fisherman rescue balm was more heavy duty product with strong earthy scent. As a bonus I was also able to try their Salt-n-Sea Body Scrub which had a great consistently, strong lemon and salt scent. On the skin the product felt gentle and left a bit of residue after skin.
Nova Scota Fisherman Lip Balm and Hand & Body cream are now part of my handbag essentials. On reflection, it’s refreshing to know that natural beauty products do as greater job than their more chemical based alternatives. Perhaps we should all try to introduce at least one all natural skin care/make up product to our routine in the New Year, let me know in the comments below.
