I just love scouting the internet for exclusive travel/ introductory makeup kits because they are the best value for money (remember makeup, not skincare!). Ever since I first started using makeup, I probably managed to hit pan on a full-size compact once! Makeup kits are great because they pack generous size sample products that last absolutely forever and by the time they are finished you will probably be bored of it anyway. My latest discovery comes from one of my go to makeup brands when it comes to highlighters and luminous complexion. Best of Becca Blushed Radiance Kit got sold out twice before I got my hand on it, but now when it’s finally mine I can see why girls are going crazy for it.
As a self-proclaimed beauty addict let me share with you one of my top beauty secrets – I tend to buy more travel kits and mini products because there is a higher chance of me actually trying new things. My hunger for owning more than a few eyeshadow colors and a wide variety of highlighter shades resulted in piles of barely used products living on the bottom of my makeup drawer. That was when I discovered that most of my favorite skincare and makeup brands release at least once a year a bundle of generous size sample products of new and/or best selling hero products from their range. These sets or kits are normally not so easily available and most of the time exclusive to certain retailers, so keep that in mind when you are scouting for them. Another useful tip is to target makeup kits with loose powders or if you are after skincare or liquid type of makeup make sure each product contains more than 5 gram of product. Less than that amount should be hand it in at makeup counters for free.
BECCA Blushed Radiance Kit (£28) comes with four travel size products including two powders and two liquid products. BECCA Backlight Priming Filter is a relevantly new product that I wanted to try for a while now. The formula feels quite light without feeling silicony, absorbs quickly and leaves the skin looking instantly more luminous. Another liquid product that I knew I’m going to love was BECCA’s Shimmering Skin Perfector Spotlight Wand in Moonstone. I already own the full-size product and I’m absolutely obsessed with the formula and shade. Since the big bottle is quite large for travel this mini size will definitely get plenty use on the go or during my travels. the Shimmering Skin Perfector in Opal comes as a pressed powder and it is best used as a highlighter. The color I can best describe as light gold champagne, which looks as flattering on pale as medium to dark skin complexions. Last product in this kit is BECCA Mineral Blush in Flowerchild. The company describes this blush as matte but I would say it has a slight luminous sheen to it. The color is somewhere between light pink and orange which sits very natural on the skin. The effect on the skin is a more of settle flush of pink color. Both powders are quite buildable and complement each other very well.
