Here is my wall of fame. These are my most used/ best beauty products that of 2014 I reach for on daily bases. Some have already featured on this blog so I will keep it short.
Givenchy Douce Croisiere is unfortunately limed edition. I cannot really put my finger on it but essentially this powder is somewhere between a healthy glow, highlighter and bronzer. In the pan it looks like nothing special but once on your skin it completely transforms my face complexion. It worms up my complexion and give that sun kissed look in a sophisticated way. This perfect skin color also have added fine shimmer particles that give more dimension to the face (when used carefully and not all over). If you are intrigued you can check some of the readily available Givenchy bronzers. They have very similar consistency and effect, especially the light color.
Chanel CC Cream is my lightweight summer tint. I have spoken about it before so check out the full review here. One thing worth mentioning is that this product comes in one (ivory) shade. I tend to reach for it more during the summer months for light weight (matte) coverage. This product smells amazing too.
Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick Eye Palette in Raw Sugar is another limited edition product I picked up during summer. It consist of ten! absolutely beautiful eye shadow shades. The packaging is so efficient making this product a mist have for travel. Shades range from champagne highlighter, light and dark taupe, range of pinks and brows that can please any fuss free diva. If you missed the boat getting your hands on this product try ebay. There are some left, be quick, it is worth it.
YSL Le Teint Touche Eclat in BD20 is my go to foundation. It glides seamlessly on the skin and does not cause any breakout or irritation. This foundation have light to medium coverage and have dewy finish. My dehydrated dry skin looks radiant and with a touch of setting power it lasts throughout the whole day. I would recommend this foundation for dry to normal skins because of the finish. Good foundation really makes a difference and YSL Le Teint Touche Eclat does fit the bill.
LOreal Color Riche eyehsadow range is probably the worst kept secret. They are unbelievably good for a drugstore eye shadow. Buttery, highly pigmented and with great lasting power. For full review and swatches go here.
And the award for pest primer goes to Kiehl’s Micro-Blur Skin Perfector. I found this product later on in the year but soon enough I realized how much I’ve been missing. The consistency is not too slippery or silicony but more smooth and almost invisible. I use it on my t-zone when things sometimes gets a bit too greasy. This primer helps my foundation last longer around my chin and nose. Foundation tends to not move as easily eliminating red or bare patches. Great product.
NYX Butter Gloss in Crème Brulee is loved by everyone and I make no exception. Inexpensive, buttery super pigmented, non-sticky, great smell… what more would you want.
Mac Consealer in NC20 have great light waigh consistency that delivers good coverage of under eye dark circles. It is not perfect and smells a bit strong but it does not cake and lasts a good amount of time. I found that this is my perfect shade that blends very well with my natural skin color (perfect for no makeup days). Probably because of the perfect shade I give this concealer high score.
Helena Rubinstain Spectacular mascara looks simple but deliver great results. Helena Rubinstain’s mascaras are one of my favorite. I frantically stock up every time I see her stand. The packaging is so gorgeous and the mascara brushes so well done that I have committed to this brand permanently for over a year now. This particular mascara wand looks so basic but in reality it separates and coats the lashes unbelievably well.
There you have it my wall of fame including best beauty products of 2014. Hope it gave you some inspiration for the year ahead.
