In general there are a few criteria when choosing a the right shade of bronzer. First is the choice of shade you want to go for – there are normally few variations of cool brown, brown with slight yellow undertones or brown with orange or red undertones. Second is the finish – matte (also works great for contouring) or shimmer. At last is the type of formula – powder vs. cream. Following the rules of elimination the best bronzer for fair skin types is not cream or deep brown with orange undertones. The type of finish is really up to you, but matte formulas do look more natural on the skin.More tips to follow
How to choose a powder bronzer?
When it comes to picking up the color of your bronzer there is one general rule of thumb that applies. Your ideal shade is two tones darker than your skin tone/foundation color. For my fair skin tone with yellow undertones I normally got for light to medium cool brown tones. In the summer months I manage to get that settle hint of almost undetectable brown color I switch my bronzer from cool matte to light brown with hits of red/orange. If you are just starting up with bronzers go for matte finish and pick a pan that come in multiple colors marbled together. The amount of added shimmer to bronzers is another thing to look out for. Matte and cool tone bronzers are great for contouring and framing the face, while bronzers with a bit of shimmer add warmth to your face and tend to be more forgiving. Overly shimmery bronzers tend to look like a bronze highlighter which I highly recommend to stay away from.
Every summer Clarins releases a new summer collection and there is always one product that is the star of the show – their bronzer.
