New brands of nail polish always excites me especially if they are an extension of a pre-existing fashion house. From a first glance Calvin Klein nail polish does look expensive but actually comes at a very reasonable price.
The color range of Calvin Klein nail polishes seemed a bit limited so I decided to stick with two staples shades – deep red and pearly pink. Red whine is a dark red sheer color with fine shimmery particles mixed throughout. The formula is a bit too sheer for my liking but after about two coats I managed to achieve a decent coverage. The application brush is synthetic and quite small making application more of a skill rather than a simple task. Overall this nail polish lasted about four – five days without any chips.
Calvin Klein nail polish in Perl Pink is a pastel pink color with golden shimmers. In this color the formula is even more sheer, which requires at least three coats to achieve some decent coverage. If your nails are in great shape this shade can work great as a light wash of color. Application tip is to use it over a base color (white, pink and beach work best) just as nail accent on top
These nail polishes did not manage my hopes of expectation of a premium product. The formula across the range is very sheer which is not something I look for in nail polishes.
