Lilac and purple tone eye shadow palettes are hard to come by in the drugstore. When one of the most affordable and loved drugstore brand released purple smokey eye shadow version of my much beloved eye shadow palette was over the moon with excitement.
I first found Collection Eyes Uncovered Smokey Purple(£3.99) online. It came with six satin finish shades in total – two silver light, two deep purple and two gun metal gray colors. I was hoping that the formula will be the same as the other eye palettes from the range (review here) but sadly I was unpleasantly surprised.
The texture of these eye shadows seem very stiff and powdery, while pigmentation was really not that strong. Darker colors were hard to blend and layer while lighter colors were far more pigmented and vibrant. On the eyes it was difficult to work with and end result was more of a settle wash of color rather than a dramatic smokey eye. If you are looking for eye shadows that are not super pigmented this palette is probably a good choice for you. Personally I felt a bit let down, considering I really like the other palette options from the range.
