December product empties

This month it’s been all about finishing some bare essentials including shampoo, conditioner, vitamins and tons of miscellaneous skincare items. To be fair majority of these products are more of a hits then misses that I thoroughly enjoyed using over the past few months. After all finishing a bottle of shampoo takes a bit of consistency and decrees use of dry shampoo.

Pureology Hydrate Shampoo is excellent product that gently cleans your hair and scalp. This shampoo is also organic, does not contain any silicones, parabines or any other nasty ingredients that stick to your hair and create a buildup. This was my first product from this brand but I would definitely venture into purchasing few more from the brand.

OGX Kukui Oil Conditioner comes in this large 385ml bottle which means two things – value for money and you will end up using it for quite a while. Either way it is a good product to give a try and I did enjoy using it. Have to say that after a month or so my hair got used to it and I did end up switching things around. Nevertheless this is a nice budget friendly conditioner (full review here) and will definitely explore more product from the brand.

Bumble & Bumble Ticking Hairspray is a cult product for me, which I feature way too often on the blog. I will continue buying in years to come.

La Roche Posay Serozinc Spray is recommended for oily and blemish prone skin. My skin tends to act out and overproduce oil, normally just before that-time-of-the-month. That’s when I started using this product and was quite pleased with the results. As it claims on the packaging it did mattify my skin and help keep the excess oils at bay. On a regular day this spray was too drying for my dehydrated and normal to dry complexion but if you have blemish prone or oilier skin type this is a great product for you. I will repurchase.

Algenist Gentle Rejuvenating Cleanser is another great product to mention. I love the semi tick cream consistency and how well it cleanses the skin. It has no district scent which for some might be a bit of a turn off but personally it does not bother me at all. Check my full review here and for the record I will repurchase.

Sanctuary Spa Body Lotion is probably the biggest disappointment from the bunch. It is a good moisturizer that sinks into the skin relevantly quickly. Problem is the “stimulating ginger” ingredient that towards the end of the bottle started to really irritate my skin. I felt that it was itching and slightly burning at times forcing me to wash my body again after application. I really don’t recommend this product, there are far better body moisturizers out there for the same or lower price.

Vichy Nutri Extra Shower gel is soap free and great for very sensitive skins. I often used it when I had a skin rash or any sort of skin irritation. It worked perfectly but it is more a special shower gel than every day necessity. I might repurchase.

There are two products from L’Occitane that are handbag essentials for me especially during the colder months.  L’Occitane hand cream is tick and nourishing which is exactly what my dry hands need during winter. It absorbs quickly leaving the skin feeling silky soft without any greasy residue. L’Occitane Shea Butter Ultra Rich Lip Balm is a total savior when it comes to smoothing chapped lips and preventing dry lips in the cold. Each year I purchase one of those lip balms and completely use it up by the end of the season. I’m completely hocked and highly recommend them both.
