“And how often do you exfoliate per week?” This is standard question I always have to answer during my skin consultations. I’ve learned that face exfoliation is as important as any other step in your skincare routine (bad news) but you only have to do it about 2-3 times a week (good news). Not so excited about the prospects of adding a new step to my already lengthy skincare routine I took the lazy approach to exfoliation – Alpha H Liquid Gold.
When it comes to skincare treatments at home there are so many scary buzz words. On top of my head I can think of face exfoliation, chemical peels, enzyme peels, applying different acids on your face. The thought of trusting myself to apply and control the outcome of products that can ruin my skin is a bit overwhelming. It took me a big leap of faith and persuasion, considering the intensity of each of the above treatments. Now after I got the hang of instance skincare treatments at home I feel like reading the application instructions at least twice is kind of compulsory.
Alpha H Liquid Gold with Glycolic Acid is more difficult to understand what it is than to apply – swipe a soaked cotton wool pad swept over the entire face and neck then go to bed. What it does is to replace your night moisturizer (2-3 times a week only) and give your skin a good workout overnight. The Glycolic Acid helps the get rid of dead skin cells on the surface, increase skin’s natural production of Hyaluronic acid, drops the PH levels, stimulating the skin to work hard and bring it back up. In translation it makes skin look tighter, plump and moisturized. After using it for a week only I did see positive results. Application is very easy, just a quick swipe avoiding the eye and lip arias. There was a slight tingling sensation on application and my skin felt a bit tighter right sway (for the record I have dry and sensitive skin). It first I start to worry that this product will irritate my overly sensitive skin but to my surprise it didn’t. In the morning my skin tone was very even, skin looked cleaner and bright. On touch it felt firm and plump and my cluster of blackheads were less visible. This product also works great on oilier skin types. In terms of frequency of use I normally go for 2 times a week, but if I happen to use foundation every day during the week I bump my use to 3 times.
I called Alpha H Liquid Gold with Glycolic Acid £33 a lazy approach to face exfoliation because it requires minimum effort and delivers maximum results. If you tend to be more dealing with your skincare or want to try something new this product will not disappoint.
