Matte and liquid lipsticks are all that rage right now but unfortunately limited selection is available in UK. Having little experience with the application and consistency of matte lipstick I was hesitant at first splurging on yet another (mauve/pinky nude) lip product. Recently NYX introduced a very affordable and elaborate range of mettle lip creams that covers large spectrum of colors. In this case it is quite possible to discover my best matte lipstick shade.
NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream range comes in 34 colors ranging from pale nudes to bold orange and pinks. Like majority of NYX lip products these matte lip creams are vanilla scented and come with the standard lip applicator. The formula feels very comfortable on the lips, it is not too tick nor sickly. On the lips first it goes on like a glossy lipstick but quickly after it sets and leaves matte finish. All lipsticks from this range are very pigmented and tend to last a good while. If you are having a meal you will have to reapply thereafter. I like that the formula wears off gradually and does not leave wired patches of color on the lips. I tried using these lipsticks with lip liner underneath, which proved to be a great way to prolong wear and be more precise with lining/shaping my lips.
At the minute I’m really into finding the perfect long lasting nude color so I purchased two brown nudes and one light pink. 02 Stockholm is a nice color combination of light peachy nude. There are definitely more prominent nude than peach color so keep that in mind. 04 London is a deeper brown that still looks natural even on pale skin complexions. 06 Istanbul is your typical muted candy pink that looks great on its own or layered over any brown tone nude colors.
NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams cost £5.50 which is a great price point. The quality and pigmentation is really there making it really worth exploring any of the 34 color options.
