Avocado oil is one of those natural ingredients especially useful for dry and dehydrated skins. Shopping around online I picked up few skicare products that can help me test the power of this magical ingredient. Avocado oil skin benefits range from helping improve skin condition, acne, dryness and boosting collagen production. It is good to know that avocado oil is not easily absorbed by the skin so it takes a bit of time to fully sink in.
Antipodes Avocado Pear Nourishing Night Cream is suitable for all skin types. Described as overnight recovery treatment this night cream is packed with all natural bled of ingredients. It comes in a sturdy glass jar and has prominent ivory color. Texture is light and buttery but feels a bit greasy on the skin. To avoid feeling my skin super oily I take my time to massage it into the skin for a few minutes. Little goes a long way so keep that in mind. This cream also comes with a strong botanic smell that might not be everybody’s cup of tea so be aware. Personally, the lingering scent kind of bothers me and did put me off using this product more often. In terms of results there are no immediate sings of improvement. After more consistent use I could detect some of the avocado oil skin benefits – my skin felt less dry and hydrated. Overall this is a good organic alternative that will deliver results over continuous use. Especially good for during pregnancy or dry and easily irritated skins.
Kiehl’s Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado comes highly recommended. Expectations were high but results not high enough. This eye cream has tick creamy consistency that takes a good while to absorb. I find it difficult to just use it on its own because it does leave a bit of a greasy/shiny stain on the skin. It comes with a very light and almost undetectable smell. In combination with makeup it does make concealer last longer. You do need to let the eye treatment sink for a bit and then blend well the concealer on top. In terms of long term benefits this eye cream kind of failed for me. There was no significant improvement of my dark under eye circles or of any fine lines. I can report that my under eye aria did feel nourished and moisturized but in exchange for greasy under eye circles. Needless to say this was not a hit product for me.
In my experince avocado oil skin benefits took a bit of time to deliver visisble results. On days when my skin felt tight and dry these product did help with skin relief. If you are after more immediate and advanced results avocado oil is probably not for you. If you are on the lookout for another product based on natural oil you might also like my Pai Rosehip BioRegenerate Oil.
