Matte lipstick and autumn trends

Dark red lipstick shades is filling up the pages of every magazine. Demure girls starting at you from the glossy pages begging you to embrace the new burgundy matte lipstick trend. But what if you are not into makeup trends but still want to shake things a little? Will my best advice to you is to go to the drugstore and buy new lipstick. Since I tend to practice what I preach most of the time, two new addition joined to me ever growing lipstick collection. They are matte, daring and part of the new Maybelline Color Sensational Creamy Mattes range.

Maybelline Creamy Mattes Nude Embrace Divine Wine review

The range of shades is quite limited the six colors included tend to cover pretty much all bases. There is a red with brown undertones, bright orange, lilac, vibrant magenta and my two favorite dark burgundy red and pale nude. The packing is darker and a bit more dramatic looking than your regular Color Sensational lipsticks. The formula is nice and creamy, glides on well and feels moisturizing on the lips. Both shades have very reasonable lasting power and come with a usual scent of Maybelline lipsticks. Nude Embrace 930 is a pale nude with brown undertones making this shade better suiting even pale complexions like mine. This shade is perfect paired with more dramatic eye looks or just to add that bit of settle nude lip color everybody needs.

Divine Wine 975 is anything but settle. This burgundy shade  is a great statement lip choice that looks absolutely stunning with any variation of gold/brown eye look. Dark red lipstick colors are often scary and depending on the undertones you may end up looking as part of the Adams Family movie cast. The trick is to go two tones deeper than your favorite pink or red shade. Recently I’ve been obsessed with burgundy shades (may be because I never received as many compliments about my lipstick in my life).
