There is a new revolutionary looking drugstore primer at the drugstore. It is called Revlon Photoready Primer Anti Shine. Completely reformulated this new Revlon Photoready primer has quite unique proposition. It comes in a compact.Revlon’s Protoready primer pre-assessor has a great reputation for a quality drugstore primer. I could not help but wanted if this new version is going to exceed the already high expectations.
This new cream like transparent consistency glides on easily leaving no trace of its existence. At first the consistency felt almost greasy and slippery.Blended into the skin the greasiness disappear and leaves a good matte finish. It really does smooth over imperfections like large pores and dark spots. In combination with foundation it did help prolong wear.
I did some comparison with some of my other high end primers and there were some clear differences.Revlon Photoready Primer Anti Shine did cling on dry patches and could not smooth over imperfect skin as much as some of the high end alternatives. If you have dry patches or dehydrated skin (even with oily t-zone) this is probably not the right product for you. Normal to combination skins tend favor this product better because of the instant matte finish.
On a more closer inspection the size of the packaging felt a bit unnecessary large and bulky considering the amount of product inside. This primer also comes with a sponge but quickly i discover that simply using fingers gives better results. While reading online reviews, some people complain about the smell. It is true the smell is a bit off putting during application. It did not bother me that much but again this is something personal to consider.
