Raised eyebrows and one good dupe

Raised eyebrows and one good dupe

It took me so long to figure out what eyebrow shape suit my face and what brow products I feel comfortable using. No wonder Sally Hughes have a whole chapter on Brown in her book Pretty Honest explaining some key do and don’ts. Taking a page of her book I want to talk about brow color. Just for the record perfect eyebrows is a skill and not a given.

All brows have naturally cool-tone color that no matter what should always be maintained. It really does not matter what is the color of hair or how warm if your complexion simply because gray (universally flattering) or any cool-tone brown are the answer to your problems.

If you are not willing to invest in Anastasia Beverly Hills brow wiz/powder/pomade, Soap & Glory offers some excellent drugstore alternatives. Personally I’m a big fan of brow pencils and have tried many in the past right before I found THE ONE. Soap & Glory Archery 2 in 1 Brow Filling Pencil in Hot Chocolate and Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in Brunette (THE ONE) are about 80% identical when it comes to overall look, shade and performance. In comparison Brunette comes with a slid brown/red undertone, the pencil feel softer on application and it also comes with a better spoolie brush. Although almost undetectable cooler in tone Hot Chocolate looks very identical once applied onto the brows. The small differences in quality are essentially what you are paying for.S&G Archery pencil is not us soft on application and to be fair is far more universal. The gray undertones tend to be flattering on different complexions and with only two shades in the range, S&G really tried to please all.

If you really want to find your best brow color match I say spend a bit extra and go for Anastasia Beverly Hills. Their extensive selection of colors can please any fussy brow addict, which is why ABH is such a cult brand. If you are on a budget or still trying to figure out how to get that “eyebrows on fleek” I suggest to go for some Soap & Glory. Their color selection is quite limited and it took me 2 months slaking their stand at Boots to get Hot Chocolate, but it was all worth it in the end. Happy eyebrow filling/drawing.
