Trying new skincare products or brands is always a tricky business so to try to mitigate the risk I do tons of research. On my quest for a new serum, I stumble across a new (to me) range of skincare products that have a very result-oriented mantra. Merumaya has few hero products to be proud of ranging from cleansing balms, eye creams, and serums so there was plenty to choose from. Since I was quite new to the brand I picked up their Merumaya Iconic Youth Serum which is an anti-aging serum which promised radiance and skin luminocity in an instant.
Excited to try and experience the effects for myself I started my obligatory two/three-week trail. For the record, my skin is sensitive, normal to dry and prone to redness. First time I used this serum was in the morning after cleansing and toning my skin. The consistency is light in texture and quickly absorbed by the skin. This product has a slight botanical scent that lingers for a bit.
To cover my whole face and neck I need about two to three pumps which meant that this handsome 30ml bottle will last me for a good while. Immediately after application, there was a thin layer which made my skin feel silky smooth and soft to touch. I found that used under foundation it acted as an excellent primer since it helped smoothen the texture of my skin and help disguised any large pores. After using this serum for a while now my skin continued to look hydrated and balanced, while dealing with low temperatures and brisk wind during the winter months. Also despite the slight silicone texture, I did not experience any clogged pores or skin irritation which is always added bonus.
Merumaya Iconic Youth Serum* is very responsibly priced at £35.50 for 30ml.I found that this serum is more suitable for normal to dry skin types considering the type of texture. Also on her recent visit my mother took a fancy to this serum, after trying it for just a few days. I was not surprised when my bottle went missing and after repeated questioning she finally admitted to “accidentally misplacing” it in her cosmetic travel bag. Oh well, this little accident made her Christmas present sorted. If you are looking for some more product reviews my recent blog post talking about Merumaya Gentle Exfoliating Toner.
