The search for drugstore non-sticky, non-drying and long lasting matte lipstick formula continues. This time around, after a great rave reviews from across the ocean, Revlon matte lipstick range is finally here. There is a relevantly small selection of shades but they all pack a good punch of color.
Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lip color is currently available in only seven shades ranging from two nudes, and few pinks and reds. Attracted by their vibrancy I went for peachy nude and bright red lip color. Flirtation or just Flirt (name varies on some websites) is not your typical peachy nude since is a lot bolder than expected. The peachy tones are very dominate and on the lips it looks more like a bold neutral. Amor or Love (name varies on some websites) is a statement bright red that is just perfect for the upcoming summer months. The color is very vibrant which is rare for any matte formula. The pigmentation of both matte lipsticks is undeniably strong and true to color. The formula is goes on creamy at first and after a while it kind of sets. I would say it is not completely matte but gives more like a satin finish on the lips. In terms of longevity, both colors lasted well after a meal and a few drinks. Towards the end of a long day of wear, there was a light wash of color and I was left with more like a lip stain that was easy to remove. These lipsticks are not drying at all and also very forgiving when it comes to dry and capped lips.
Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lip color cost £8.99 and is currently available at Superdrug. They are totally worth the money and I date to say that they perform much better compared to other drugstore alternatives like NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams which are a bit cheaper but also come in wider range of colors.
