I probably have two or even three of this generous sample by Clinique. At this point it was finally time to put Clinique 3 Step Skincare to the test. This sample includes three products: facial soap, purifying lotion and moisturizing lotion. On the sample there are directions for use – cleanse, exfoliate and moisturize once morning and evening. The product is deposited in little round pockets that are numbered. This sample packaging is not only unique but also convenient. Here are my first impressions of Clinique 3 Step Skincare products. The sample i used was for Type 2 skin (Dry Combination – skin is tight and uncomfortable in the cheeks, comfortable in the T-Zone).Looking back i do believe that Type 2 is also how i would identify my skin type myself.
Clinique Liquid Facial Soap mild – I was a bit skeptical about using soap to cleanse my dry skin.It have not worked in the past so i was curious to see if something have changed. Well it haven’t. This facial soap did leave my skin clean but felt a bit striping.
Clinique Clarifying Lotion – After using this product my skin felt very tight and in a need for a moisturizing boot. Also this product smells to me of clinical alcohol which i was not too keen on. Needless to say we did not get along.
Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion + – Actually this was the reason i got attracted to trying this skincare system. This product is well prized and reviewed online so i had to find for myself if it is worth the hype. When i fist tried it in store this moisturizing lotion felt a bit tacky on the skin. At first i though it is some sort of a liquid soap but after consulting with the kind lady at the counter turn out it is not. She applied it again in some magic streaky motion and the light cream consistency skin into my skin immediately. When at home i attempted to apply it in the same was as she showed me but the results were simply not there. The consistency was felt tacky on the skin even after i left it for about 30 minutes. Eventually i just rinsed it off my skin. I attempted a few more times to work with this product but the results were simply not there. I think that product should work the same not only when demonstrated by a shop assistant but also when you are alone at home. At this point i can not pass judgement on the effectiveness of this product. Perhaps only a few pointers regarding formula…
My overall impression of all three products is that they are not suitable for dry or dehydrated skin. Despite what is written on the tin i believe that this products can actually be far more suitable for combination to only skin types.
