Over the past few weeks there were tons of new summer limited edition makeup launches. Every spring/summer luxury brands tend to reissue their limited edition collections, so there is unlimited supply of bronzers, bronzing oils and gold eye shadow palettes. Since nothing jumped out from the shelved I decided to shop into my own makeup closet and dug out some of last year’s summer limited collections. Here is what I found.
Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess The Nudes Eye Shadow palette including five matte shades and three shimmers. This palette is far more practical and complete in comparison to this year’s new edition. It is the perfect mix of staple shades that can “brighten up your complexion” any time of the year. The range of mattes is very complete and versatile. The champagne, gold and aborigine shimmer are the perfect base for creating both day and night look with minimum effort.
Clarins Colors of Brazil Summer Bronzing Compact is the ultimate summer staple. If you are looking for some cool tone and matte shimmer bronzer, this is it. The new version of this product is slightly lighter in tone but still delivers the promise of naturally glowing looking skin.
Givanchy Healthy Glow Powder is the perfect hybrid between cool tone bronzing powders and settle highlighter. In the pan this product looks like nothing special. Once on the skin it magically transform dull skin and gives that much loved settle light brown skin radiance. I discovered that the Healthy Glow powders included in the permanent Givanchy makeup collection does come quite close in color to this limited edition beauty.
There you have it sometimes new does not necessarily means better. I strongly encourage you to dig inside your makeup drawers and rediscover a well-loved but forgotten beauty product. Must say it is quite rewarding.
