My hair gets dry, tangled and quite unmanageable at times. Over the years restorative hair masks became my only savior. Philip Kingsley Elasticizer Extreme is a new find that I am quite pleased to talk about. This intense, deep conditioning hair treatment comes with a bit of a different approach when it comes to application that may be the secret to good looking and healthy hair. Instead of applying it after you shampoo you hair, Philip Kingsley hair mask must be applied before. This vital detail escaped me when I first attempted to use this product. For the record my second time around went far more smoothly.
Philip Kingsley Elasticizer Extreme also comes with a cute transparent shower cap that makes you look less cute for a good bit of time. I know it sounds a bit long for walking around, rocking that shower cap look but bear with me because the results are all worth it. I lathered the cream consistency on my mid length and ends of my hair and let it work its magic for at least 30 minutes. After a thorough rinse, shampoo and some conditioner (I cannot imagine skipping conditioner ever) I was ready to inspect the results. My hair felt very soft and conditioned but most of all there were no signs of any tangles. It really made a huge difference since my dry ends were smoothened and chemical bristle hair bits completely rejuvenated and much less noticeable. Although this mask is very intense it did not weight down my hair or make my scalp greasy. Even after a few washes I could see that my hair still remained soft and smooth. My hair looked much more healthy, shiny and as good for me to audition for LOreal hair products commercial.
From repeated experience I can recommend that if you leave this mask for 10-15 minutes it will not be enough for deep hair conditioning. I normally lounge around the house with my sexy hair cap for one hour or more, when time permits. Another key to success here is to use Elasticizer Extreme at least twice a month for consistent more permanent results.
With my purchase I also received a two more generous product samples to try. Both were described as scalp masks but it turned out they are quite different from each other. Philip Kingsley Exfoliating Scalp Mask is something to use in combination with Elasticizer Extreme. As suggested by the name you apply it in the roots of your hair only. After use I felt that my scalt can breathe again and as added extra there was a bit more bounce in my hair roots. My hair also looked far less greasy between washes.
Philip Kingsley Scalp Mask is slightly different. The concern this mask is targeting is more towards angry and irritated scalps. I was trying out a new shampoo that my scalp was not particularly happy about it. Naturally, redness and occasional iciness followed soon after. This mask did help cool things off but it was not strong enough to get rid of the problem entirely.
Overall impression of Philip Kingsley is quite positive and I’m so glad that have discovered this amazing hair brand. This is probably my new go to brand for really restorative and deep conditioning hair treatments.
