During my self tan brand discovery I came accost the highly recommended and organic Vita Liberata. Till now I was not a stranger to the more affordable options by Garnier and L’Oreal which I still think are great alternatives. This time around I decided to invest a bit more and see if I am actually missing on something good.
For my fair skin I decided to go for Vita Liberata Tinted Self Tan Lotion in medium. Although this is not the lightest color from their lotion range I was determinate to make it work and still look natural. The product comes in this dark brown color, almost the same shade as the packaging. My dreams of achieving more light to medium bronze tone kind of evaporated at that stage but I still went ahead with application. The consistency is light, creamy and blends smoothly into the skin. Immediately after I carefully massaged the product onto my body my skin already had a nice golden sheen to it. After a few hours the color further developed into a deeper tone (I might get even darker if you leave it overnight). There was also a slight but pleasant smell that lingers on the skin for a bit. In terms of overall results I kind of grew to like the deeper but still natural medium shade. There was a hint of orange that became more prominent when the tan stated wearing off. After about two days my self tan stared fading off not so gracefully. It kind of hanged on to the dry patches on my skin, kind of amplifying my not so perfect tan application. After another two days it was completely gone but it took some effort scrubbing it off.
With my Vita Liberata Tinted Self Tan Lotion purchase I also received a sample of Vita Liberata Tinted Self Tan Lotion for face in Light. I was pleasantly surprised about the light shade this product developed into. My face looked gently sun kissed, there were not strikes left from application and it wore off seamlessly. Clearly the better product for me from the bunch.
